Hello! I’m Emma, a Doctor of Acupuncture and practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
I am deeply inspired by the restorative power and holistic approach of TCM, and I bring these principles into every treatment I provide.
My journey in healthcare began with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, driven by my deep curiosity about the intricacies of the human body. After experiencing the healing effects of acupuncture firsthand, I became fascinated with TCM and pursued specialized training at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC, where I graduated summa cum laude in 2016. Following registration with the CTCMA in BC, I was fortunate to complete a year-long apprenticeship with Dr. Reuven Freesman, who broadened my understanding of integrative approaches to pain and injury management.
Over the past eight years, my practice has focused on treating a wide range of injuries and chronic pain conditions. I work with patients experiencing back pain, neck pain, joint injuries, arthritis, sciatica, sports injuries, and postural imbalances. Through my additional training in orthopedic acupuncture, I use a combination of techniques like acupuncture, fire cupping, and gua sha to help alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and promote tissue healing.
In addition to pain management, I also support patients with fertility needs and women’s health concerns. I have completed comprehensive training which has enriched my ability to support conditions related to hormonal balance, menstrual health, and reproductive wellness.
Furthermore, I’ve pursued specialized training in Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture with Dr. Martha Lucas, allowing me to offer a natural, holistic approach to skin rejuvenation and facial health. This technique promotes circulation, collagen production, and skin vitality, all while maintaining balance within the body.
Beyond physical concerns, I work with patients facing stress, anxiety, and the mental challenges that can accompany chronic pain. My approach is to create comprehensive, personalized treatment plans that address the root causes of discomfort and foster long-lasting health improvements.
I’m passionate about guiding my patients toward a balanced and active lifestyle that encompasses physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I’m excited to bring my patient-centered practice to Cochrane, Alberta, and look forward to supporting you on your healing journey.
